Sony starts rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Xperia


If you own a Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V or a Xperia Ray then you are in for a treat! Keep checking your phone for updates as Sony has released the Ice Cream Sandwich update starting from these three phones. HTC, Samsung, Motorola and other manufacturers have made similar announcements quite sometime back but apparently none of them have started off with the ICS update for India. 







As for the other range from Sony, the company is expected to roll out the update to more phones towards the end of May/start of June including the Xperia Arc, Xperia Play, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, Xperia Active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman.

This 7" tablet is powered by Android 4.0.3 along with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels capacitive touchscreen display. Under the hood is a 1 GHz processor with a high performance PC. Tablet also has a front camera and 512 MB of RAM and storage of 4GB which can be expandable to 32 GB.


It also has a full USB, mini USB and Micros SD card slot. For 3G this tablet has to be dependent on an external 3G dongle. It comes binded with Rs.3K 'take-aways' that also include discounts on air tickets from Cleartrip.com.

Micromax launches 7-inch Android ICS Funbook tablet at Rs 6,499

Micromax has launched a tablet - Funbook - that runs Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. The device has a 7-inch (17.78 cm) multi-touch capacitive touchscreen, which has a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It is powered by a 1.22GHz Cortex A8 processor.


Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Micromax Informatics Limited has claimed it to be the slimmest tablet in India. Besides, it is touted to be the first made in India tablet.

Priced at Rs 6,499, the Micromax Funbook has a 0.3 megapixel (VGA) front camera and 512 MB RAM. It is available in two colours - slate grey and midnight black.



It comes bundled with Tata Photon 3G dongle to keep you connected on the go. It also offers HDMI connectivity and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity.

The tablet has an internal memory of 4GB, which can be expandable up to 32GB. It is said to support 1080p video playback.

The Funbook tablet comes engineered with a 2800mAh battery, which can give users browsing time of approximately 5 hours. The tablet is also light in weight.

Micromax has partnered with Pearson, Everonn and Vriti to bring digital education to users. On the other hand, the company has also joined hands with Bigflix, Indiagames and Zenga to bring entertainment one its tablet.

The tablet will be available at 1,00,000 retail outlets across 50 cities in India.
