Nokia 808 PureView: The 41MP camera phone is coming to India this week

Nokia 808 PureView: The 41MP camera phone is coming to India this week.

For those who were waiting for this 41MP phone to launch in India, hold your breath as Nokia now plans to launch this phone on coming June 6, 2012. With its groundbreaking image technology, the Nokia 808 PureView lets you take photos with extraordinary detail and creativity. It features a 41 megapixel 1/1.2" sensor and a high resolution f/2.4 Zeiss all-aspherical 1-group lens. Though this piece of marvel was unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress.

PureView Pro is an imaging technology used in the Nokia 808 PureView device. It is the combination of a 1/1.2" large, very high resolution 41 MP with high performance Carl Zeiss optics. The large sensor enables pixel oversampling, which means the combination of many sensor pixels into one image pixel. PureView imaging technology delivers high image quality, lossless zoom, and improved low light performance. It dispenses with the usual scaling/interpolation model of digital zoom used in virtually all smartphones, as well as optical zoom used in most digital cameras, where a series of lens elements moves back and forth to vary the magnification and field of view. In both video and stills, this technique provides greater zoom levels as the output picture size reduces, enabling 4x zoom in full HD 1080p video, 6x lossless zoom for 720p HD, and 12x zoom for nHD (640x360) video.

Quick Specifications:
- 3G Enabled.
- Nokia Belle OS
- 1.3 GHz ARM 11 Processor

- Standard battery, Li-Ion 1400 mAh (BV-4D)
- 41 MP (38 MP effective, 7152 x 5368 pixels), Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Xenon flash

They went in for a special drive on a carefully programmed route to experience being behind the wheel in a whole new way. This test was a organized technical experiment, but we too think it's also a promising look at what autonomous technology may one day deliver if rigorous technology and safety standards can be met.
